Geotechnical engineer, Catherine Ellis, joins Haley & Aldrich to support Bay Area clients

Burlington, MA (February 15, 2016) – Haley & Aldrich, an engineering and environmental consulting firm, today announced the appointment of Catherine Ellis, P.E., G.E., as Senior Client Leader in its Walnut Creek, CA office. Ellis was hired to support Bay Area clients to develop innovative solutions to their geotechnical and environmental challenges.

Haley & Aldrich is a growing presence in the Bay Area, and has significantly expanded its San Jose, Oakland, and Walnut Creek offices during the past year. The Bay Area offices—which primarily service clients in the environmental services, real estate, and geotechnical areas—draw expertise from hundreds of engineers, scientists, and constructors from nearly 30 Haley & Aldrich offices across the country. 

Ellis, who has a 20-year career in geotechnical engineering, is registered as a Professional Engineer in civil engineering in California and Oregon, a Geotechnical Engineer in California, and is certified as a Quality Control Manager, NAVFAC. Prior to joining Haley & Aldrich, Ellis held several senior-level positions at Kleinfelder as corporate real estate services manager, international operations manager, area manager in San Jose, Calif., and senior project manager/senior engineer. In these positions, Ellis managed high-profile, complex projects in the commercial development, health care, education, energy markets, and for public agencies. 

Ellis is active in the American Society of Civil Engineers, having served as president of the San Jose branch and past director of the San Francisco Section. She is also a past president of the Peninsula chapter of the American Society of Engineering Consultants (formerly CELSOC). Ellis holds an M.S. in Civil Engineering from California State University, San Jose; an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley; and a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of the Pacific.
