With over 35 years of experience at Haley & Aldrich, Joel Mooney helps clients navigate difficult geotechnical, environmental, and regulatory challenges. Joel has a deep understanding of our real estate and infrastructure clients’ business goals, below-grade design and construction, and state and federal regulatory requirements - all of which are necessary in order to get complex construction projects out of the ground. In addition, Joel leads the strategic direction and has operational responsibility for the staff and projects in the company’s Buildings & Infrastructure Business Unit, which includes clients in the developers, healthcare, infrastructure, and higher education markets. Over the course of his career, he has been the Principal-in-Charge for a wide variety of public and private projects dealing with geotechnical and environmental aspects of design and construction.
Joel is a Professional Engineer in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and New York, and a member of the Boston Society of Civil Engineers, Section ASCE. He is also a Licensed State Professional (LSP) in Massachusetts and a member of the LSP Association. Joel represents Haley & Aldrich at several Boston-area business organizations, including the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation and A Better City.
Joel is a graduate of Syracuse University, where he earned a Master of Science degree in civil engineering. He earned Bachelor of Science degrees from both the State University of New York and Syracuse University.
