As Chief Learning and Development Officer Marya is responsible for Haley & Aldrich’s learning, training, and knowledge sharing programs that meet the current and future needs of the organization to develop staff and deliver better results for clients.
Over more than 30 years as a practicing engineer at Haley & Aldrich, Marya has provided integrated geotechnical and environmental services for many projects. She has comprehensive knowledge of design and construction issues related to subsurface conditions and how they impact both the design and cost of construction. She has expertise in a variety of foundation and earth retention systems for complex urban projects with underground construction. She has managed work from due diligence to permitting, final design, through to construction. She leverages her technical knowledge and ability to build collaboration among owners, design, and construction teams to resolve underground engineering and site environmental challenges for the benefit of the client.
Marya earned her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in civil engineering from the University of New Hampshire (UNH). She is the Chair of UNH’s Advisory Board for the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department and recipient of the department’s 2016 Distinguished Alumni Award. She is active in many professional organizations including as a member of Urban Land Institute, NAIOP and the Deep Foundation Institute and is a frequent speaker on the topic of underground engineering and construction.
