Haley & Aldrich partners with Center for Bio-mediated and Bio-inspired Geotechnics, National Science Foundation-funded research consortium

Burlington, Mass., June 17, 2019 – Haley & Aldrich, an engineering and environmental consulting company, today announced that it has partnered with the Center for Bio-mediated and Bio-inspired Geotechnics (CBBG), a National Science Foundation-funded research consortium that includes Arizona State University (ASU), UC Davis, Georgia Tech, and New Mexico State University. CBBG is focused on developing geotechnical processes and solutions inspired by nature that will facilitate sustainable infrastructure development to meet the pressing needs of the world’s growing industrialized population.

To realize its vision, CBBG combines fundamental scientific research with application-based engineering advances, facilitated by enabling technology and systems integration test beds. Haley & Aldrich is actively involved with all four CBBG focus areas, which include hazard mitigation, environmental protection and restoration, infrastructure construction, and subsurface exploration and excavation. In addition, Haley & Aldrich is actively engaged with CBBG education and knowledge transfer seminars and is hosting a technical seminar for CBBG students and faculty at ASU on June 21.
