Mark has decades of experience providing geotechnical and civil engineering services throughout Northern California. He understands the importance of earning and maintaining clients’ trust, and he is known for his honest evaluations, clear communication, and commitment to delivering results that exceed expectations.
As a leader of award-winning Haley & Aldrich project teams, Mark’s work has been recognized at both state and national levels, with honors from organizations that include the American Public Works Association, the California Geotechnical Engineering Association, Engineering News-Record, the California Association of Sanitation Agencies, and the Bay Institute. Several of his projects have won multiple awards, particularly for emergency response to extreme events.
Mark enjoys tackling new challenges and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to identify stakeholders and address project constraints early in the planning process, believing this is key to moving projects from meeting expectations to exceeding them. He is also skilled at explaining complex technical analyses to non–experts, which serves him well both when mentoring new engineers and when presenting at agency board meetings and conferences.
“I became an engineer because I wanted to keep learning, solve real-world problems, and help improve infrastructure, safety, and quality of life. It’s been extremely rewarding to accomplish those goals alongside our clients and my colleagues at Haley & Aldrich.”
