Tiffany Thomas, Ph.D.

Principal Consultant, Emerging Contaminants Leader

For Tiffany, the opportunity to solve a client’s problem with her unique and valuable skills is a powerful motivator. Over her 22-year environmental career, she has continually embraced this challenge across a diverse array of public- and private-sector industries. Tiffany’s experience includes projects for clients such as chemical manufacturers, oil & gas companies, the Department of Defense, and water treatment plants, among others.

By embracing her clients’ problems as her own, Tiffany has been able to find solutions for multiple contaminant chemistries, including petroleum hydrocarbons and chlorinated solvents as well as polychlorinated biphenyls, dioxins, and PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances). She has also applied various forensic techniques to opine on past sources of contamination in support of litigation across the country.

“I respect the need for and dedication to pure research, but I firmly believe that science pursued in a vacuum does not benefit anyone. I love the execution of applied science, particularly as it can directly benefit the environment and society.”
