James Bellew, accomplished geologist, joins Haley & Aldrich’s New York City office as a Senior Associate

Burlington, Mass., Dec. 4, 2018 – Haley & Aldrich announced today that James Bellew has joined the firm as a Senior Associate. Bellew brings a strong environmental background to Haley & Aldrich, including extensive experience in bedrock, soil, and groundwater investigation with a focus on remedial design and implementation.

“James brings senior environmental leadership to our growing New York practice,” said John Difini, Principal Consultant at Haley & Aldrich. “His strong environmental expertise is a great complement to our geotechnical engineering practice, which, together, enable us to provide our clients with comprehensive integrated solutions to their engineering and environmental challenges.”

Bellew has designed, estimated, and managed multi-million-dollar investigation and remediation projects across the Tri-State area, including preparation of design drawings, bid specifications, and bid packages. Notably, he served as Senior Project Manager providing leadership on high-profile sites including the former Nuhart Plastics Superfund Site and Former Delta Metals Site, both in Brooklyn, New York. Bellew has also contributed to numerous additional projects within the New York State Superfund Program, as well as within the New York State Brownfield Cleanup Program and the New York City Office of Environmental Remediation E-Designation Program.

Prior to Haley & Aldrich, Bellew held senior consulting positions at prominent engineering firms where he managed the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of large-scale remedial systems. His experience also includes program design and construction management of demolition and renovation projects requiring management of asbestos-containing materials and polychlorinated biphenyls.

Bellew is an active member of the American Council of Engineering Companies, the Urban Land Institute, and the Business Council of New York. He has a B.S. degree in Geology from Binghamton University and an M.S. degree in Geological Sciences from Queens College.
