2 Haley & Aldrich projects honored at 2025 Engineering Excellence Awards

Mauro DeiGiudici, Forrest Paul, and Derrick Shelton hold their awards at the 2025 Engineering Excellence Awards gala.

Burlington, Mass., June 3, 2025 – At the 2025 Engineering Excellence Awards gala on May 20, Haley & Aldrich received two National Recognition Awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies.

The National Recognition Award is a prestigious achievement in the ACEC’s annual national awards competition, reflecting exceptional engineering accomplishments.

Haley & Aldrich’s winning projects transformed their cities, making improvements that solve decades-old issues and aim to bring lasting benefits:

  • In Kingman, Arizona, our team resolved an environmental hazard at the Kingman Municipal Airport that dated back to the end of World War II, when waste from aircraft recycling was left at the facility. Previous attempts to deal with the waste on-site fell short, and Haley & Aldrich finally solved the problem by excavating nearly 100,000 tons of contaminated soil, transporting it to landfills, and restoring airport facilities so that Kingman can bring in new airport tenants and keep operations running smoothly.
  • In Boston, our team contended with many challenges to deliver the foundation for Lyrik Back Bay Air Rights Parcel 12. This combined infrastructure and mixed-use commercial development reconnects Boston’s Fenway and Back Bay neighborhoods after Interstate 90 separated them in the 1960s. It has attracted top-tier commercial tenants and incorporates transportation upgrades and new safety measures for residents and visitors.

In addition to the National Recognition Awards, the Kingman and Lyrik projects received top honors from the Arizona and Massachusetts ACEC chapters, respectively.
