Haley & Aldrich’s Elie H. Haddad has provided technical guidance on two fact sheets sponsored by the International Aerospace Environmental Group (IAEG) and in partnership with Yordas Group.
Geared primarily toward the aerospace and defense sector, the fact sheets explain the regulatory background of two global conventions and outline how country-specific laws enacted in response to them may affect business obligations, operations, and liability.
The Minamata Convention on Mercury fact sheet explains relevant articles of the convention, certain milestones, applicability to the aerospace and defense sector, and regulatory obligations. The Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) fact sheet explains which POPs are included in the convention, with specific emphasis on those relevant to the aerospace and defense sector, provides a dateline of major convention milestones, lists exemptions, and discusses the major regulatory drivers in certain countries that implement the convention requirements.
Together, the fact sheets guide the aerospace and defense sector and their supply chains, as well as manufacturing companies, on how they can identify potential risks and prepare for the impact of evolving requirements on global operations.
