Burlington, Mass.—July 22, 2026—The Environmental Business Council of New England (EBC) has honored a Haley & Aldrich project—the remediation and redevelopment of Lynn Harbor Park in Massachusetts—with its James D.P. Farrell Award for Brownfields Remediation Project of the Year Award.
Along with representatives from client Charter Contracting Company and other project team members, Haley & Aldrich’s Ian Phillips and Lindsey Tirrell accepted the award at a ceremony on June 10. The EBC called the effort a “transformative brownfields project” that enhanced its community with a “vibrant, climate-resilient public park.”
Haley & Aldrich led the sustainable remediation of manufactured gas plant contamination by treating the manufactured gas plant waste on-site, reducing disposal costs and truck traffic. The Haley & Aldrich team helmed by Lindsey, Ian, and Jarrod Yoder guided the Lynn Harbor Park redevelopment through technical and regulatory challenges to full remediation and regulatory closure. Their work enabled Charter to realize its vision for a public waterfront park with walking paths, pickleball and basketball courts, and a performance area. The project also catalyzed nearly $1 billion in adjacent residential and mixed-use private development.
